Hay momentos en los que buscas algo aunque exactamente no sabes qué es. Sabes que tiene relación con el sentimiento de sentirte mejor, de verte mejor por lo que tienes la idea que yendo de compras puedas encontrarlo pero no es así, incluso puede producirte el efecto contrario, momentos así son en los que nada te queda bien, nada es para tí y vuelves a casa más vacia y tu cartera también. Esos momentos son ideales para escaparte a algún museo, salir de tu mundo y ver lo que el arte puede ofrecerte.
Los museos dan mucho sin tener que hacer nada, simplemente tienes que pasearte tranquilamente por sus salas y dejarte llevar. Poco a poco vas interesándote por lo que te atrae. Hay una leyenda negra por ahí que dice que los museos son para gente erudita y de rollo profundo pero es mentira. El arte es para todo el mundo. A mí el arte me ha dado tanto a lo largo de los años que le estaré siempre tremendamente agradecida . Yo, personalmente, he ido prestando atención sobre todo en las mujeres y he descubierto que hay un gran misterio ahí, y es que viéndolas a ellas me he ido conociendo más a mí misma.

DANTE GABRIELLE ROSSETTI( 1828- 1882) fue el creador de la llamada escuela Pre-Rafaelista, pintor de padre italiano nacido en Londres . La modelo de sus cuadros fue principalmente su propia mujer Elizabeth Siddal que se convirtió en el modelo de belleza de esta escuela así como fue el rostro de la famosa Ofelia de Shakespeare en el cuadro de otro pintor prerrafaelista llamado John Everett Millais . Elizabeth tuvo que estar posando para representar la muerte de Ofelia sumergida en una bañera con agua largas horas hecho que le hizo enfermar.
Esta bellísima mujer fue pintora y poeta con un trágico final tras dar a luz a una niña muerta y por las infidelidades de su marido terminó su vida con una dosis elevada de Láudano, un medicamento de opio y vino de Málaga muy popular en la época.
Otras modelos de los cuadros de Rossetti fueron Fanny Cornforth y Jane Burden que también fueron sus amantes. Si queréis saber más sobre este artista pinchad aquí o aquí que es de donde también he sacado las fotos.
Rossetti fue también poeta y hay otra tremenda anécdota en su vida y es que destrozado por la muerte de su esposa decidió enterrar con ella todos los poemas que le había escrito, años después un amigo suyo con su permiso exhumó el cadáver para recuperar el cuaderno de poemas. Se editaría bajo el nombre de "The house of life". Rossetti siguió pintándola y murió 20 años después de Elizabeth perturbado y víctima del exceso de alcohol y de láudeano .
There are times when you´re looking for something but you do not know exactly what it is. You know is something relate with the idea of feeling better, so you go shopping but that even produce in yourself the opposite effect. Those are the moments that nothing fits you, nothing is for you and you come home more empty and your wallet too. That is a great moment to get lost in a museum and see what art can offer you.
The museums give you a lot without having to do anything, you just have to stroll leisurely through its rooms and let it go. There is a black legend out there that says that museums are just for "academic people" but it´s a lie, art is for everyone. Art has given me a lot over the years and I am truly grateful. I've been looking at the women in the pictures and there is a mystery there than by seeing them I have been learning and knowing more about myself.
I wanted the women of Rossetti to be the first in this section "Women in Art" I discovered them fascinated in a sala in the Tate gallery in the years I lived in London, a city where everything is expensive but the museums are free. That´s where I started going to museums and enjoy it.

The model of his paintings was mainly his own wife Elizabeth Siddal who became the model of beauty of this school and was the face of the famous Shakespeare's Ophelia in the picture of another Pre-Raphaelite painter named John Everett Millais. Elizabeth had to be posing submerged in a tub of water for that painting, thing that caused her pneumonia.
This beautiful woman was painter and poet as well and had a tragic end. After giving birth to a dead girl and after her husband's infidelities ended his life with a high dose of laudanum, a drug prescribed by doctors made of opiom and and Malaga wine very popular at the time.
Other models of the pictures of Rossetti were Fanny Cornforth and Jane Burden who were also his lovers.
Rossetti was also a poet and there is a tremendous story in his life, distressed at the death of his wife decided to bury all the poems he had written to her with Elizabeth's body, years after his friend with his permission exhumed the body to get the notebook of poems. He´d edit under the name "The house of life".
Rossetti continued painting her and died 20 years after Elizabeth, victim of excess alcohol and laudanum.
